Oratorical Contest

The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc Mu Xi Lambda Chapter host an Annual Oratorical Contest at Heritage Intermediate School going on 31 years.

The contest happens in February and is open to students in grades 1 through 12. Participants are grouped into 3 grade groups: 1st through 5th grades, 6th through 8th grades, and 9th through 12th grades.

Over its 31-year history, thousands of students representing schools throughout the Inland Empire deliver speeches on various topics inspired by Black History Month. Elementary students discuss their dreams. Middle school students deliver speeches on their personal strategy for achieving peace at their respective schools and communities. High school students are challenged to discuss methods of identifying and overcoming negative stereotypes.

Through our respective programs, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc aims to build leadership, character, civic, and educational skills of youth and young adults.

Founders Day Dinner

The Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated celebrate the anniversary of its founding on December 4, of every year.  The celebration is a chance to reflect on both individual and collective journeys in the fraternity. Founder’s Day is a day when members reflect on the historic significance of the Founder’s decision to organize as a fraternity, and what that has meant for generations of Alpha men who have followed in their footsteps over the fraternity 115-year history.  It is also a time in which members celebrate by fellowship.  Mu Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated is no exception to this tradition and yearly collectivizes on this special date to celebrate and fellowship together.
